The converted mill retains a unique charm, showcasing its 1833 origins with exposed beams and rustic decor. A lovely spot where the grounds feature a tranquil pond, perfect for unwinding at the end of the day.
My twin room’s beds felt more suitable for a Wookiee than a human—2' 6'' frames left me tossing and turning all night. The setup lacks sufficient sound insulation, meaning the revelers in the hallway gave me an early wake-up call at 1 AM and then again at 6:30 AM by some noisy breakfast group. A lock on my door was finicky, requiring some wrestling, and the door to the landing creaked loudly, disrupting any possible peace. For a spot with a reputation, these quirks made this stay less ideal than I had hoped.

Attended a wedding at Sheene Mill with a beautiful outdoor ceremony by the river. The setting created a lovely atmosphere, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. The wedding breakfast was well-presented and all dietary needs were catered for, which I appreciated. as a hotel guest, I felt sidelined. The bar was off-limits for us on the night of our stay, forcing us to seek drinks elsewhere. The acoustics at times got a bit loud during the festivities, making it challenging to relax at moments. I had hoped for a more comfortable experience as a hotel resident.

We had an awesome time with friends. The mill building and gardens are stunning, making it a great spot to relax after visiting awesome places like the Duxford Air Museum and Cambridge. The room was clean and comfy. The included continental breakfast had some tasty homemade muesli. Just a heads up, there are quite a few stairs, which could be tricky for some. a solid choice!

Late arrivals may find the key collection process risky as the main door can remain unlocked, leading to a potential safety concern. A malfunctioning wine fridge in the bar area caused a loud disturbance at 1 a.m., and despite reaching out for assistance, no one responded until checkout. the local dishes served were enjoyable, contributing positively to the experience.
